We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Engineer to join our hotel operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functionality and upkeep of all hotel equipment and systems. This role is essential in maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for our guests and staff through timely repairs, preventative maintenance, and system optimization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, hotel operations, or a similar technical environment.

• Well-versed in all facets of building maintenance, including but not limited to: Mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, boilers, air handling units), Plumbing (pumps, valves, domestic water systems), Electrical (panels, lighting, troubleshooting), Sheetrock and carpentry repairs, Fire alarm and sprinkler systems, Water pumps and circulation systems.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues quickly and efficiently.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a guest-first mindset.

• Must be physically capable of performing hands-on tasks including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.

• Fire and Life Safety Director (FSD) certification or equivalent experience is strongly preferred.

• Technical training or trade school certification in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems is strongly preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds and inspections of all critical systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.

• Maintain and troubleshoot rooftop chillers, boilers, domestic hot water heaters, rooftop makeup air units, fan coil units, and ventilation systems.

• Respond promptly to guest room and facility maintenance requests with professionalism and urgency.

• Conduct preventative maintenance according to hotel schedule and manufacturer specifications to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

• Maintain clean, organized mechanical rooms and equipment storage areas.

• Assist in coordinating with outside vendors for specialized repairs or inspections.

• Be available for on-call emergencies and shift coverage as required.
