Job Summary
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the public areas, public bathrooms, lobby, corridors, elevators, landings and service areas on guest room floors, ensuring hotel's standards of cleanliness as well as non-guest-facing areas such as employee bathrooms, locker rooms and cafeteria areas, according to company procedures and at a level that meets or exceeds company standards. Provide linen supplies for Room Attendants and stock floor closets. Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests and management.

- Thoroughly cleans sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, tiles, counters, walls, stalls, vents and/or floors with cleaning agents.
- Adheres to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
- Thoroughly dusts all furniture, pictures, and shelves.
- Thoroughly cleans and polishes all metal surfaces.
- Empties trash.
- Ensures that the lobby area is neat and clean, including picking up trash, keeping floors clean, including front entrance.
- Provides timely delivery of any items requested by guests. Retrieves items from guest rooms and returns to proper storage areas.
- Turns in all lost and found items and all guest room keys.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
- Follows safety and security procedures and rules.
- Knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Uses protective equipment.
- Reports unsafe conditions to management including but not limited to accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management.
- Reviews assigned area and complete general removal of any trash or debris on floors.
- Checks floor closets and completes linen requisition to replenish linen supplies.
- Stocks linen carts with clean linen and supplies.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of floor closets; removes trash, wipes down shelves/counters; sweeps and removes non-floor closet items and transports to proper storage areas.
- Removes all dirty linen from assigned Room Attendant's carts and closets.
- Removes all dirty glasses from assigned Room Attendants' carts and closets. Transports to dish room and returns clean and capped glasses to floor closets in racks.
- Cleans designated areas with proper chemicals, tools and equipment.
- Wipes down all surfaces of vending machines, ice machines, and laundry machines/counters/shelves.
- Ensures that nothing is stored in stairwells.
- Removes stains, scuff marks, and dust from carpets.
- Transports guest laundry and dry cleaning to correct guest rooms.
- Turns in all lost and found items and all guest room keys.
- Performs any related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
- Assists other Housekeeping Personnel when need.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
The Hotel may consider the equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities cited below, when applicable.
- Must possess the ability to speak, understand, read, and write the English language sufficient to understand inquiries from customers and communicate simple instructions.
- Must possess the ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products and processes within the hotel
- Must possess the ability to understand and follow directions and perform job functions under limited supervision.
- Must possess the ability to visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and guest belongings that have been left behind.
- Must possess the ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
- Must possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must possess the ability to work a flexible schedule which may change from week to week. This includes the ability to work weekends, holidays and overnights.
Physical Requirements
- Must possess the ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand and walk continuously, climb stairs, and push or pull heavy equipment
- Must possess the ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand and walk public areas for extended periods of time.
- Must possess the ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
- Must possess the ability to perform duties in confined spaces.
- Must possess the ability to push/pull service carts weighing up to two hundred (200) pound carts
- Must possess the ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of one hundred (100) pounds
- Must be capable of frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
- Must possess the ability to move fingers, arms and hands quickly and easily to perform cleaning duties.
- Must be capable of constant standing and walking.
- Must possess hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. (Specific standards outlined in the team member handbook).
