Rémunération: $70,000 to $80,000 per year, plus bonus

Job Summary:
The Group and Convention Sales Manager is responsible for driving group and convention business to the hotel by developing and executing strategic sales efforts to attract corporate, association, and other large groups. This position involves identifying new business opportunities, maintaining and nurturing existing client relationships, and managing all aspects of the sales process, including solicitation, negotiation, and finalization of contracts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to meet sales targets and maximize revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to target and attract group and convention business for the hotel.
- Identify and pursue new group business opportunities through networking, outreach, and research.
- Work closely with the General Manger and other team members to meet and exceed monthly and annual sales goals.
Client Management & Relationship Building:
- Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with event planners, meeting organizers, and corporate clients.
- Ensure that clients’ needs and expectations are met through regular communication and follow-up.
- Provide tailored proposals, event planning, and meeting solutions based on client requirements.
Sales Execution:
- Handle incoming inquiries for group and convention bookings and respond to all RFPs (Requests for Proposals) in a timely and professional manner.
- Negotiate group room rates, meeting room rental fees, catering, and other services to secure contracts that maximize revenue.
- Oversee the execution of group events and conventions, ensuring smooth operations and addressing client concerns during the planning process.
Coordination & Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the hotel’s operations team (event planning, catering, front desk, etc.) to ensure seamless coordination of group and convention events.
- Attend site inspections, pre-event meetings, and post-event reviews to ensure client satisfaction and address any concerns.
Market Research & Reporting:
- Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry changes to identify new sales opportunities and enhance sales efforts.
- Track and report on group and convention sales activity, ensuring all data is accurately entered into the hotel’s CRM system.
- Provide regular sales reports and feedback to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to solicit and book Citywide business
- Knowledge of the local San Diego market and hotel's competitive set
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in hotel sales or event management, with a focus on group and convention sales.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with Amadeus (Sales Pro) software.
- Knowledge of the local market and competitive landscape is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with some flexibility in hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Travel may be required for client meetings, industry events, and site inspections.
