Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and responsible individual to join our Lake Activities team as a Boat Captain. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of boating experience and a passion for providing exceptional customer service. As the captain, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all passengers, operating the boat efficiently, and creating an enjoyable experience for everyone on board. Adherence to local waterway laws and a Texas Boaters Certification is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the fleet of LASR boats safely and efficiently, ensuring adherence to all LASR guidelines and protocols
Provide excellent customer service to passengers, creating a welcoming and positive experience
Monitor weather conditions and adapt excursions as needed to maintain safety
Enforce and follow all boat safety rules, including speed limits and environmental regulations
Conduct routine maintenance checks on the boat to ensure it is in good working condition
Report any accidents, injuries, or safety hazards immediately to management
Assist in cleaning and maintaining the boat after each trip
Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with customers and team members

Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age
Minimum of two years of boating experience
Texas Boater’s Certification
Current TDL with clean driving record
Strong knowledge of lake boating safety procedures and navigation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm in stressful or emergency situations
Customer service-oriented with a positive and approachable attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Preferred:

Water Safety/Rescue Certification a plus
First Aid and CPR certification
Experience as a water sports instructor for wake surfing, wake boarding, and waterskiing

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
