Position Objective

Primarily responsible for onboarding, training, and supporting all Guest Services staff. To establish leadership and monitor the performance of Bell Attendants, Door attendants and Valet attendants. This will require supervising and assisting in management tasks with the Guest Services Team. These including assisting with lineups, monitoring Guest Services Professionals ensuring their jobs function meet the hotel’s expected level of service, assisting with all Guest Services training, and consistently driving knowledge of the hotel services, features, and amenities. The Bell Captain will also be required to perform all the responsibilities of the Bell Attendants. It is a highly guest-interactive position. It is essential that they possess an extensive / intimate knowledge of the hotel policies and procedures, as guests will require a vast array of service and information. Reports to the Director of Front Office Operations. 

Essential Job Functions

• Communicate in a professional manner extensively with guests
• Record and assign tasks and maintain accurate logs
• Ability to multi-task; be team orientated and resolve challenges that may arise
• Transport luggage to and from the guestrooms, deliver time sensitive materials such as: facsimiles, overnight packages, guestroom amenities, and shoe shines
• Facilitate guest traffic in the lobby by opening doors
• Onboard all new Guest Service Professionals ensuring they meet Hotel Bennett’s standards
• Oversee the storage and delivery of guest luggage 
• Inventory of staff equipment and ensure the equipment is logged and scheduled for service

Education/Experience

• Minimum of High School Diploma; prefer college degree in hospitality
• Past hotel/resort experience preferred in a luxury setting

Requirements

• Previous hotel/resort experience preferred in a luxury setting
• Varied work schedules, ability to work as it pertains to the needs of the guests of the hotel

Physical Demands

• Bell Attendants must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds
• Must possess the ability to remain calm in a stressful and/or hurried environment
• Must be physically able to transport luggage over the course of an eight (8) hour shift, and remain standing for a vast majority of that shift
