The Project Accountant is responsible for maintaining the project cost accounting system by ensuring that all commitments, change orders, and progress billings are entered timely and accurately. This position will also be responsible for project reporting as required.

• Manage projects from a financial aspect that are assigned by the capital finance manager
• Review and code project invoices ensuring proper approvals for payment processing
• Conducts analysis of project encumbrances and expenditures including retainage and general ledger reconciliations
• Reconcile monthly capital project activity to general ledger.
• Manage cash activities and bank reconciliations
• Track in coordination with project managers, all commitments, purchases, and outstanding project expenses
• Maintain vendor and internal customer relation
• Conduct project budget forecasting
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and problem resolution

• A four-year degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience; and at least 2-4 years of related experience
• Understands accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, general ledger, Accrual, etc.)
• Possess working knowledge of ERP systems, Oracle preferred
• Must be deadline oriented, self-starter and able to work in a thriving fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to plan and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving skillset
• Proficient with MS Excel and MS Office
• Ability to work independently, with some oversight, and in team environment
• Must have good work ethic and integrity, dependable, adaptable, cooperative, and motivated to take on new responsibilities
• Professional demeanor with a positive, solution-seeking attitude
• Ability to think critically & analytically and make sound decisions to effectively drive important project issues to effective resolution
