How to Use AI To Improve Your Resume

A.I. and chatbots are the latest tech advance happening at what seems like lightning speed. They have already become a great tool to learn to help improve your work life, and now your job search!
Do you need some help writing a strong resume? Here’s how AI can help you!
Step 1:
Head over to Hcareers to kick off your job search. Find a few different job descriptions for the role you are looking to apply for that has responsibilities and skills well written out.
Step 2:
Open a new tab with your AI program of choice, ChatGPT seems to be the most popular for this, but ResumA.I. also use ChatGPT to create their results. Depending on what the program asks, create a profile or open their workspace.
You’re going to craft a prompt to tell it what to do for you. Make this as detailed as necessary. If you already have a resume, you can also use it for the prompt. Here are some example prompts:
With a resume:
“Act like a professional resume editor. Create an optimized resume for me using this job description [paste job description here] and my resume [paste your resume here].”
Note: you can also add in how many pages you want the results to be, and tell it specific sections you want it to include.
Without a resume:
“Create an optimized resume using this job description [paste job description]. I have 1 year of experience as a front desk agent at an 80-room luxury hotel [add in other relevant experience here].”

Step 3:
Format the results in a resume template and make sure to edit to make it personalized to your experiences and include any metrics your can.
It is always a good idea to have a trusted person review your resume as a final step before you start applying to make sure you didn’t miss any spelling or grammatical errors.
